Very few spot forex traders conduct any form of parallel and inverse analysis of the major pairs and exotics to determine the best way to trade the forex on a day-to-day basis. Even though it would be nearly impossible to trade the forex successfully not knowing where the overall strength and weakness was in the spot forex across multiple pairs.
Lets look at some examples. Many people like to trade the GBP/USD they spend countless hours losing sleep waiting to trade this pair even when no trend or parallel/inverse confirmation is available. Losses occur. They could increase their odds dramatically by setting up some entry rules and examples like the ones shown below.
Only buy the GBP/USD if the GBP/CHF and GBP/JPY are strengthening as well. This would be parallel confirmation on the GBP strengthening across the board.
Only buy the GBP/USD if the EUR/USD is strengthening and the USD/CHF is weakening. This would be confirming the entry with two other pairs and across the board weakness in the USD. In either situation you have confirmed the entry with at least two other pairs. Both of these entry rules would include a stop order, and you can enhance the rules further by examining the EUR/GBP for weakness. This is inverse confirmation.
But this is not what traders do. They want to trade the GBP/USD so badly that they manufacture a trade, or the they want to use indicators, or trade the news. This is a mistake and is equivalent to betting or gambling. There is no logic to support the entry, the forex works in a logical way. Lets look at some other examples. Lets say you prefer to hold carry trades and prefer to trade the GBP/JPY, you could set up rules for entry as follows:
Only buy the GBP/JPY if the GBP is strong across the board based on parallel and inverse pairs, or only enter the GBP/JPY if the GBP/USD and USD/JPY are both strengthening somewhat or a lot. In the second scenario the GBP/JPY will slingshot upward at a very fast pace.
Or another scenario is to only buy the GBP/JPY if the EUR/JPY, CHF/JPY and AUD/JPY are all strengthening as well, in this case the USD is not in the picture because of across the board weakness in the JPY. Either way you have confirmed the entry with other pairs.
Another example would be to buy the USD/CAD only if the EUR/CAD and AUD/CAD are also strengthening.
Similar rules can be applied to any major or exotic pair and easily monitored upon entry. In the case of the three CAD pairs, if you also do a careful analysis of support and resistance, you can trade the pair with the most potential rather than just trading the USD/CAD.
But this is not what traders do, they get stuck trading the same pair and wind up justifying a trade when a trade is not there. These trade entries are not based on logic they are based on emotional needs. This leads to losses. The forex works in a very logical process and you must let the logic work for you. Stop looking at indicators and start looking at other pairs to support your entries, these are the best indicators available.
Across the board strength and weakness in groups of pairs occurs weekly in the forex. But if you search the internet far and wide you will see that it is rarely and in fact never discussed by traders, analysts, and trade planning services charging hefty monthly fees. People are too busy looking at indicators and absolutely no discussion of the market forces governing the spot forex ever occurs.
It is very rare if nearly non-existent for one forex pair to move strong without other pairs to confirm the move. This is true for any major or exotic pair. If you are stuck trading the same pairs while other pairs and exotics are making strong moves its time to look at all of the pairs every night then pick the best opportunities based on parallel and inverse analysis.

Don't Let Your Dog Bite Your Homeowner's Insurance

Dog owners, if asked, will usually say that they couldn't see their dog biting someone. However, a third of liability claims resulting from dog bites have taken a chunk out of companies providing homeowner's insurance. Most of these dogs were owned by someone. Most of the time it was someone who was irresponsible towards their dogs, who failed to provide training, socialization and/or control. Many of these people are now paying with higher insurance premiums and sometimes the inability to find an insurance provider that will cover them, their dog or subsequent dogs they own.
That third of homeowner's insurance liability claims does not endear dogs to insurance companies. In fact, many are trying to cover homeowners in everything but their canine companions. Some people have had to resort to dog-specific coverage, even if their dog hasn't bitten anyone. Breed specific exclusions are common, as many insurance companies view certain breeds as too risky to cover. Owners of rottweilers, American pit bull terriers and other breeds identified as "dangerous" can have a hard time getting coverage, even if the dog owner is responsible and controls, socializes and trains their pet.
Socialize and train your dog. Obedience classes are an excellent way to accustom your dog to other people, other dogs and obeying commands with distractions. It also helps bond your dog to you. Dogs appreciate assertive leadership and, while some don't require more than a waggled forefinger and a disapproving, "Bad dog!" to straighten out, respect owners who clearly draw the line. Do not equate this with abuse; while a dog has to have very clear negative consequences, they should be appropriate to the situation and to the dog's temperament. Don't anthropomorphize. This four-mile-long word basically means "imbue an animal with human characteristics and values". Your dog cannot have the right to be protective over food, toys or its body. It can't be allowed to make decisions about aggressive behavior. It must be constantly trained that all decisions are made by the Alpha and the Alpha is you. Dogs don't have feelings like human feelings. They cannot be reasoned with; they must be shown how to behave through consistent training and reinforcement.
Do not mistake territoriality with protectiveness. A dog frothing at the mouth and lunging against its lead when you walk it down the street isn't being protective; it's being a menace. Having a dog like this also means that you are not in control of its behavior and it does not look to you for guidance. The same goes for a dog that mindlessly throws itself against the fence when people go by. This is not protectiveness. A truly protective, well adjusted dog has been socialized and trained so that it fits into nearly every family situation and knows when people are behaving normally and when they are threatening. Even then, dogs are not always aware of when protective aggression is called for, so the owner must always be aware of what the dog is doing.
Never leave your dog alone with a very small child or a strange child. Dogs do not have a sense of universal love and responsibility towards all children. They may behave indulgently towards their children, but this does not mean that they will allow other children the same liberties. Dogs should never be expected to take abuse from very small children without retaliation. Keep small children away from the dog unless both are strictly supervised and under direct control.
Always have control of your dog. A dog that will only come when called when it suits the dog is not trained enough to be allowed off lead except in a secured area. When greeting other people, your dog needs to be under control at all times. There is no excuse for allowing your dog to jump all over people or frighten them.
Make sure that your homeowner's insurance covers your dog. Some people have found out that their dog's breed or mere presence means that they are no longer covered under their insurance. Make sure that you get a carrier that knows about the dog's presence in your home and that offers enough coverage to cover a dog bite liability claim. Insurance is in existence because the unthinkable sometimes happens. If it does, it is much better to be covered than not.
Very few people actually want their dog to bite someone and even fewer want their insurance premiums to rocket. Despite this, many people are flirting with financial disaster by not responsibly controlling their pets. Don't let this be you!

BC Homeowners Face Tough Times When Flooding Strikes

Residents of Southern BC have faced tough weather conditions this winter, with buckets of snow wreaking havoc on transportation arteries throughout the mainland as well as Vancouver Island. Rising temperatures and heavy rains are now causing the snow to melt quickly, which is overwhelming waterways and flooding streets and houses.
Chilliwack, for instance has declared a State of Emergency due to dangerous flood conditions. Mudslides are also hitting some homeowners in the Fraser Valley, putting not only property, but lives at risk. The melting snow and rain have caused an overflow in Victoria's sewage system, which has resulted in untreated waste flowing into the waters of the eastern coastline.
With flood waters hitting so many BC communities, homeowners need to know what to do to protect their homes in the event of a flood.
The first thing that BC homeowners need to be aware of is the fact that natural flooding is not covered by standard homeowners insurance. In the event that your pipes burst or city water mains fail, you will be covered for any water damage incurred, but cases of overland flooding are not covered.
According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada, flood insurance is not available in BC because it would not be cost effective. In general, only those who live in high risk areas are willing to pay for flood insurance, which means that insurance premiums would cost homeowners a mint. Flood insurance would only be feasible if more people were willing to pay for it; it would even out the mix of high- and -low risk policy holders, making it a more viable venture for providers.
Some areas are now eligible for financial aid under the Disaster Financial Assistance Program, which is run by the Ministry of Public Safety. This plan is designed to assist homeowners and small business owners whose property has been damaged from an event that is not covered by standard insurance, such as overland flooding. Those who qualify for assistance can receive up to 80% coverage for damages that are between $1000 and $300,000.
Areas that have been approved for assistance from the recent floods and mudslides include Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Surrey, Langley, the Fraser Valley Regional District, and communities along Southern Vancouver Island. If you live within one of these areas, you must submit an application within 90 days of the approved event. To apply, visit the Provincial Emergency Program website at pep.bc.ca.
If you're concerned about flooding in your own home, the best thing you can do is to minimize the amount of water that can get inside the house. If possible, have sewer backflow valves installed to keep floodwaters and sewage from backing up into your drains. If this isn't feasible, you can minimize backflow by stopping all drains with drain plugs, weighing down your toilet lids to keep them closed, and disconnecting dishwashers and washing machines.
Line up sandbags around the perimeter of your home and in front of any vents or openings. If you can't find sandbags locally, fill pillowcases with soil from your garden.
Move everything of value (including important documents) to higher ground. If you have more than one story, move everything to the highest floor. Appliances and furniture should be raised as high as possible, and you should be prepared to turn off gas, water, and electricity. Make sure to have food supplies, bottled drinking water, flashlights, medications, batteries, and a first aid kit with you on an upper floor, and don't forget to grab your pets, some food for them, and a litter tray.

Property auction at a lesser price

Many properties have repossessed this year. Due to recession, there has been an increase in home repossession. According to a survey, there were nearly 19,000 properties that were repossessed in the first half of 2008. It is not easy to digest who have lost their houses. If you are planning to buy your dream home at a reasonable price, you can look for those repossessed properties which are now available for auction, at a lesser price. If you would have purchased a new home you would have paid 50 percent more but if you buy the same house through auction you will pay half the amount. In the past three years there has been an increase in the percentage of repossessed properties that are auctioned by over 300 per cent. In numbers the repossessed properties that were auctioned were nearly 3,102 in the first half of 2008 from 800 in the first half of 2005.
A survey from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors tells that the properties that were sold easily through auction over the past three years are going through a bad phase due to credit crunch. But there is a plus point with less competition in auction you can bargain for the property at a price you wish to buy. Many bankers and lenders sell repossessed properties on a single day itself because they want to receive their amount and so they don’t wait for achieving a higher price. Due to this many properties are sold at a low price which is enabling investors to get some excellent deals. Even newly build flats are being sold at huge discounts. If you buy a property at auction you can save as much as half the value of the property. But remember before you step into the auction room do your homework well.
See to it that you auction the property at a price that you can afford, because if you raise your hand once you have to buy the property. The timescale that is involved in a property auction is much tighter when compared to real estate agent. If you’re planning to buy a property through auction see to it that your finances are in place, as there is limited time frame. You have to make 10 percent of the purchase price on the day of auction and the rest within 28 days. So contact a lender in advance who will help you out. Many lenders will not be able to process the mortgage application in such a limited period of time. So it would be better if you take guidance of a good broker. Remember to inspect the property properly before going for a bid. Some auction properties have legal minefields like bad titles of ownership. So try to spot it in advance. On the day of the bid you should have 10 per cent of your maximum bid, solicitor’s bid, two forms of identification and auction catalogue. If you don’t carry these don’t go for a bid.

Whether you have flat abs or a beer belly, you can experience pain due to excess abdominal gas and excess fecal matter in your intestines. It has been said that if you have only one bowel movement a day, you have up to eight meals left in your intestines. Gas can develop in a matter of hours after eating and stay around for a long time so listen up.
How does this relate to back pain? Allow me to explain… Abdominal gas can be devastating to the back-pain sufferer, especially one who is trying to take a more natural approach and is using stretching and exercise to get relief. Here's why: The position of your pelvis and the curvature of your spine are the two biggest factors that affect any condition that causes back pain. Even if the treatment you are using is a good one, your results will be hindered by a distended belly.
Big Belly Gas Pains
Let me give you an example: Suppose the last thing you eat at night is fruit. Your body will begin to digest it, and because fruit ferments very quickly, gas will be an automatic byproduct of that breakdown. Without any other food matter to push the gas along, it will get trapped. All night long your body will be fighting the effects of that gas, and you will wake up in the morning with killer back pain.
That's why I never recommend fruit as a midnight snack. Right now you may be thinking: What's so bad about a little gas? Answer: If your belly gets distended—much like a pregnant women—your abdominals are going to get stretched out, which means they are not going to be able to stabilize your pelvis as they should.
There is no amount of abdominal strengthening you could do to overcome the outward push of that abdominal gas. If your belly is distended, you will never achieve the neutral position for the pelvis that you need to get relief.
Flat Abs Gas Pains
I know what some of you are going to say: "But what if I have flat abs and back pain?" Even if you have rock-hard abs, the gas—instead of pushing your belly outward—could be pushing your intestines back into your spine and the muscle of your spine. That irritation of your intestines could be just as bad as, if not worse than, the outward forces. In either case, you will be amazed at how fast you'll get relief if you work on getting that gas out of your system.
5 Things You'd Rather Not Know
If having too much gas was not bad enough, there are at least five other irritating conditions that can affect your back pain due to improper bowel movement.
1. Most people are chronically dehydrated, which usually leads to constipation. Other reasons you might be constipated include the medications you are taking and the foods you eat. With constipation, you go through your day with excess pressure on your bowels. And whenever your colon is full of waste matter, it will be stiff and rigid. Because your colon is so close to your spine and the muscle of your spine, mobility becomes an issue, not to mention more pain.
2. Constipation creates strain. If your fecal matter is dry, hard, and difficult to eliminate, you will have to work harder to get rid of it. This can be murder on your body—your blood pressure spikes, your rectum is traumatized, and the pressure on your spine is tremendous.
3. Food allergies cause inflammation. Whether we know it or not, many of us have food allergies (nuts, wheat, milk, beans, etc.). With any allergies, you will have an inflammatory reaction, and the inflammation that emanates from your intestinal track is so close to your spine that the inflammation is going to affect the muscle of your spine.
4. Poor nutrient absorption can add pounds. A digestive track that is not absorbing nutrients properly will not allow your body to get the nutrients it needs to repair itself. This can bring on a chronic cycle of eating to try to satisfy your nutritional needs, which likely will lead to weight gain.
5. Stress on internal organs weakens tissue. The weight of the excess stool will put stress on your internal organs—your stomach, small intestines, and large intestines, all of which are held in place by very delicate fibrous connective tissue. As that connective tissue is weighed down over time, it will start to fail than sag and than your trouble are going to be compounded.

Most people would do almost anything to get rid of their back pain. If you are undergoing any type of treatment (including the principles of Muscle Balance Therapy™) and want to improve your odds of getting relief sooner, try these tips:
• Drink more water. A good rule of thumb is to drink one ounce of water for every two pounds of your body weight. For instance, if you weigh 100 pounds, drink at least 50 ounces of water each day.
• Give yourself a visceral massage (called Sun-Moon). To begin, lie on your back and with both hands starting just above your right hip, apply inward pressure on your abdomen, going straight up to the bottom of your rib cage. Effective Back Pain Exercises

The answer to a healthy back is appropriate exercise. The problems associated with back pain can be minimized with exercises. It is widely known that regular exercises will improve the appearance and health in general, but very few realize the benefits that good physical conditioning can have on their back pain.
The benefit of exercises for the back depends on the following three key principles:
To attain satisfactory aerobic fitness. To focus part of the exercising on the muscle groups that supports the back. To avoid exercises that cause heavy stresses on the back
The right kind of exercise program helps in keeping the back pain under control and can make it easier to continue doing the daily chores. A break from vigorous exercise can be taken if the pain becomes worse. A Doctor or physiotherapist can be consulted before starting an exercise program for deciding on the type of exercises that can be done to relieve back pain and to stay fit.
Warm up is important before exercise and deep inhaling has to be repeated before each exercise. Regular exercise helps a lot and if it is skipped for a day, unavoidably walking can compensate it, to some extent.
Exercises to strengthen the back and hip muscles:
Wall slides exercise helps to strengthen the back and hip muscles. Leg muscles also get relieved. By standing against a wall on the back, try to slide down with knees bent. The bend should be 90 degrees and count till 5. Then come back to standing posture. This has to be continued for five times.
Raising the leg also helps in strengthening back and hip muscles. Lay down on the stomach. Try to tighten the muscles of a leg and bring it up. Count till 10 and bring it down. Continue this for 5 times each for both the legs.
Sitting up partially strengthens the abdomen muscles. Lie on the back and keep the knees bent. Raise the head and shoulder above the floor and try to reach the knees with hands. Leg rising also benefits stomach and hip muscles.
Exercises to minimize the back pain:
An aerobic conditioning program for 30 minutes, thrice a week is ideal for overall fitness. Recommended aerobic exercise includes Bicycling, swimming and brisk walking. Aggravation of low back pain can happen if step aerobics and exercises like jumping and running are practiced. Aerobic exercises make the heart and other muscles consume oxygen more efficiently.
Swinging back legs could strengthen the muscles of hip and back. Stand in the back of a chair and raise a leg up and down without bending the knee. Repeat this for each leg.Posture training for sitting, standing, sleeping and even during motion is needed if posture is a factor. The type of shoes viz. High Heels that are worn can also affect the posture by adding more stress on the lower back by changing the posture.
Stretching exercises can be done for keeping the muscles flexible and less prone to injury.
Physical therapy: There are different forms of physical therapy viz. Passive Physical therapy and Active Physical therapy. Passive physical therapy includes Heat/Ice packs, TENS units and Iontophoresis. Active Physical therapy is the exercises like Stretching for back pain exercise, Low-impact aerobic conditioning and strengthening for back pain exercise.
While there are merits if a pattern of good conditioning is followed the wrong type of exercise may actually worsen the low back pain. Activities that pass on too much stress on the back like lifting heavy weights, jumping, running, step aerobics and climbing are not advised. Slow Cycling on a recumbent stationary bike can also relieve back stress. To sum up, exercise will decrease the severity and frequency of lower back pain and can be prevented when a comprehensive exercise program is followed.

If you've ever groaned, "Oh, my aching back!", you are not alone. Back pain is one of the most common medical problems, affecting 8 out of 10 people at some point during their lives.
Back pain can range from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp pain. Acute back pain comes on suddenly and usually lasts from a few days to a few weeks. Back pain is called chronic if it lasts for more than three months.
Most back pain goes away on its own, though it may take awhile. Taking over-the-counter pain relievers and resting can help. However, staying in bed for more than 1 or 2 days can make it worse. Acute or short-term low back pain generally lasts from a few days to a few weeks.
Most acute back pain is the result of trauma to the lower back or a disorder such as arthritis. Pain from trauma may be caused by a sports injury, work around the house or in the garden, or a sudden jolt such as a car accident or other stress on spinal bones and tissues. Symptoms may range from muscle ache to shooting or stabbing pain, limited flexibility and range of motion, or an inability to stand straight. Chronic back pain is pain that persists for more than 3 months. It is often progressive and the cause can be difficult to determine.The lower back is a complex area that connects the upper body (including the chest and arms) to the lower body (including the pelvis and legs). The lower back is composed of several vertebrae, disks of soft cartilage, muscles, joints, ligaments, and nerve tissue.DiagnosisBlood and urine tests will make sure the pain is not due to an infection or other systemic problem.
X-rays are useful in pinpointing broken bones or other skeletal defects. They can sometimes help locate problems in connective tissue.
